For me --I shall continue to hammer that the only way to STOP this GALAMSEY MENANCE---is for PARLIAMENT to Enact a LAW to BAN entirely any Small Scale Mining operation [legal or illegal] for a foreseeable period seriously say 15 years until the Water Bodies and Agricultural Lands regain their unpolluted state .Any violation of such a BAN LAW must attract a severe penalty even Death by Firing Squad. As an example in some Asian countries any Drug [Narcotic] Trafficking always attract very severe penalty even death sentences.--It is a deterrent and it works,--Presidents don't make Laws ---Let Parliament PASS a LAW. Let the gold remain underground -undisturbed until a better safer method is designed to win the gold. WATER is priceless and more important than gold. WATER & PLANTS is LIFE and not the gold. Small Scale Mining cannot be the only JOB around to be engaged in. Let those seeking work go into farming ,-[crops --animal --fish ]----Serious afforestation programs must be undertaken ---

When President Akufo-Addo was putting pressure to arrest Galamsay Operaters , then Mr Mahama said he'll free all Galamsayers when he comes to power, just to win votes from ILLEGAL MINERS. The NDC COULD NOT & WOULD NOT stop these menace. The President was encouraging & supporting the destruction of our water bodies. Almost All our rivers are polluted, rivers like ODA,PRA ,DENSU, BIRIM & all the minor rivers had been polluted with Mercury & the worst pollutants in the market. When will Mahama acknowledge his mistakes & stop playing Politics with Galamsay.
