Market fire after market fire.Cui Bono? (who stands to gain?). Yes the market stalls have always been a disaster waiting ti==o happen but how do we explain this sudden spate of massive fires? These are economic crimes.These fires have been going on particularly over the last 5-7 years .
It is our prayer that the new Mahama Administration we see this as an opportunity to put in place legislation that will ensure market stalls and shops are constraucted in a safe manner with the right infrasturre in place. When well designed and run, markets are a far more attractive tourist attraction than say some weird looking horribly looking, horribly expensive building that resembles an aircraft repair hangar. Markets are centres of intense economic activity especially if they allow night time trading as well.
