We should learn to take violence from our politics. Violence prevents simple, rational debate. Ghanaian politicians and the media are destroying the country with their use of language. Children have learnt it and we can now see children killing people. Have we pondered over where our country is going? It is always someone else’s fault and never our fault. What happened to responsibility? What happened to the basic respect we used to have for others? What happened to the values we used to believe in? We can trace answers to all these questions to the way we use language and communicate with each other. Perhaps a little bit of reflection can help us back to being human again.
