It is a well known fact that national security in every country disburses large sums of money in covert operations 'ostensibly to secure the nation'. Examples are the millions of dollars that the secret services like the CIA, FBI, MI5 secretly spend both at home and abroad to protect their national interests.

If this Adu Boahen is saying that he disbursed huge sums to certain individuals and outfits including the NDC why did'nt Ayine and that Chris Asher know that?
When you have people like Kpebu making such comments, you should know that this is not just smoke, there's fire also.

We used to say that every thief is a liar and vice versa. First, we have to test the truth of his statements. He has all the incentive to lie and sidetrack from the fact of the issues raised by AG. So, I’m surprised that a lawyer would even make conclusions based on statements from an alleged criminal: these explanations just by the first glance are obviously don’t even pass the test of common sense- timings are way off. No receipts are provided, no approvals are provided. Is he suggesting that he personally bribed these individuals from his personal account? Can he refer to bank transfers/ transactions of these alleged payments.

To give credence to the statements of an accused person of the caliber of former DG of a state security institution who threatens to reveal classified information in order to avoid prosecution is just laughable.
Unless the “astute” lawyer knows something we don’t know then I am disappointed in his comments
