We are not stupid, your allowances and perks are more than your monthly salaries. It is only poor country like Ghana that people get clothing allowance for the job they are doing. Meanwhile the state provides all these free of charge. Even the fuel cost to carry your kids to school everyday, weekend funerals with state cards, the weekly cost is even more than your monthly salaries. Why can't we cut all these crap expenditures that were put in place during the colonial rule? You people are getting decent wages to take care of you and your family so start paying for everything as ordinary Ghanians does!!!!

But this raises serious ethical and policy concerns:

Was it truly voluntary—or implied command?

Why is a public health program relying on personal donations?

Is this a cover for weak healthcare budgeting?

Voluntary giving shouldn’t replace structured, transparent funding. Ghana deserves healthcare backed by strong institutions, not goodwill under pressure.

Patriotism should never blur accountability.
