It has been happening every rainy season and we our city engineers must find a way to reduce the intensity of the flooding . The natural topography of our cities and towns have been compromised by our activities and we do not have any control over the rains . The city engineers must leave their offices and go out there to come out with solutions to the problem.

How insensitive could some of these comments on the flooding disasters in Accra be?
It will be very fair to explain that the Mahamah administration assumed the seat of government only some five months ago. That administration was was not expected to come in equipped with mechanical shovels, traxcavators and water repellent gadgets in anticipation of these kind of eventualities. It is sadly recalled that when the former Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, mounted his campaign to demolish buildings, walls and other impediments to the free flow of rain water into the lakes and lagoons, it was the same clueless indigenes that criticized and called for his premature removal. Let us see how myopic we were in our estimation, thinking and inaction. This flooding episode is not the last. Let us gird our loins for more. President Akufo Addo promised a national cathedral. At least, he gave us a swimming pool into which some of the devastating rain waters could have been channeled!!!

We have the same problems every year. What are the solutions? Many towns and cities are facing the same problems because of poor town planning not enough gutters for the rain water to flush out. Who is responsible to build gutters for our towns, and cities in Ghana? NDC and NPP have ruled the country for many years BUT still can't solve basic problems in the country. Every district must have street engineers to construct proper roads, gutters, and bridges. Where are the town planners? Houses are built in the middle of the streets ooh Africa what kind of people we are? Wise up responsible leaders in Ghana this is 21st century. I know and you know systems are not working in Ghana.
