People will get even more tired if the Bank of Ghana acts randomly and without a clearly communicated strategy. Making a major part of the markets lose heavily is not a strategy.

Thank you professor. You are one of the rare people right now with the capacity to give a clear account of the situation. BoG is currently only driven by government policy to fool the public about the state of the economy and what they have done to improve it.

Fact is, that none of the positive measures taken by this government have come to fruition yet. And the bank of Ghana is playing roulette. And that is extremely dangerous. The BoG needs to persue it's tasks indépendantly from curent government interest. This is not a beauty contest. Making imports cheaper kills local production. Always.

Everything I see is that the BoG is not acting professionally. Why? Is it for intentional political reasons or just because of a lack of professionalism? We will find out sooner or later, but they are flying without proper orientation right now. Surprising the markets and being unpredictable is a recipe for desaster.

Master you see how bias you are. At least talk about President Trump trade war with USA trade partners which has weakened the strength of the dollar against all other currencies. This is not to say government has done anything, but those policies put in place by the government alone can not give us the results we are seeing concerning the appreciation of the cedi. The major factor is the trade war among the big guys in the market.
