Bawumia and his NPP seem confused now. First, they claim the cedi is getting strong because of their gold for oil policy. They have forgotten that, they started this policy in 2022 and up till the time they handed over power and got into opposition in January 2024, this policy failed to work. Then well after JM took over, then the policy is working. Funny people.
Then as if to reject their gold for oil claim, they are saying the cedi is getting strong because of the weakening dollar. They probably have not realised that, there are other currencies in the world and that the cedi is now the best performing currency among them all. As if to dump this argument too, they are saying the cedi is getting strong because JM is not spending. Perhaps this is their way of saying that JM is not spending recklessly as if there's no tomorrow like Akufo Addo. Of course, JM is spending but just within the confines of the budget.
The best thing for NPP to do now is to keep quiet and reflect on why they lost so heavily in the December 2024 elections. Instead, they are making so much noise and only giving themselves up with every noise they make.
