If the power of the cedi to the dollar will not be reflected in the prices of goods and services on the market, then it will be be better for the government to revert to the old rates . If the government is doing all they can to make life better for Ghanaians but we are not willing to help the government achieve that goal , then their efforts will be in vain.

Mr President, much as we would love to see prices come down, it is preposterous to assign the rise of the cedi against the dollar as the pivot point. Instead, lets work towards creating jobs and increasing productivity and things will naturally fall into place. The cheaper dollar may help bring in some equipment, but how much of that is geared towards productive ventures? Who doesn't know that most of it is used in importing luxury vehicles and accessories into the country. Lets not assume that the dollar automatically produces maize, cassava, yam or plantain, or put more tilapia in our pepper sauce.
