Alfred Agbesi Woyome was initially granted bail of GH¢54 million with two sureties to be justified by the Accra Fast Track High Court in February 2012. However, shortly thereafter, the Financial Court reviewed and reduced the bail amount to GH¢20 million, requiring three sureties to be justified .

Despite the reduction, Woyome's legal team managed to raise GH¢87 million in assets to meet the bail conditions. Nevertheless, delays in property valuation by the Lands Commission postponed his release from custody .

These bail proceedings were part of the broader legal actions concerning the GH¢51.2 million judgment debt payment made to Woyome, which the Supreme Court later ruled was obtained unlawfully and ordered to be refunded to the state .
