Common sense, how much were you buying fuel just last December? How much is fuel now? Government is saying ESLA has been collateralised by Ken Ofori Atta so if they don't come up with a plan, after hard days work you will go back home and sleep in your mosquito infested room which will caused you to get malaria to put pressure on our health system so they gain we have made on the reduction in fuel prices, take some and let's support the energy sector to keep the lights on, logically as people , let us wait if the petrol prices start increasing and we loose the gains, we can then tell government our piece of mind but currently the government has done well with the petrol price so let's think about supporting keeping the lights on.

Ethiopia had the same power problems and they addressed it by building the biggest dam in Africa called the Renaissance dam. So why do administration upon administration keeps buying light crude oil to power our country. It is not sustainable. Hence the need to build a new family.

The problem is government's failure to communicate to Ghanaians properly on this increase, this is called the Energy Sector Levy Act estasblished in 2015. One of its component is the Energy Sector Debt Recovery Levy. The government within 5months has reduced the dollar rate and decreased fuel prices which has affected the reduction of goods including spare parts and other products so GPRTU should come clear in the operational cost expenses because their statement do not reflect the reality on the ground. This levy have been paid by Ghanaians (including the GPRTU) for the past ten years, it is not a new tax but a partial increment of the levy from 0.49pesewas to 1 cedi. The challenge is the NPP made 42.2bn cedis equivalent to $4bn from 2017-2025 but because of mismanagement still left an artificial debt of $4bn at the Energy Sector. The question all Ghanaians should be asking the NPP is where is that money and why that money could not still pay off the debt?
