Mind you, being acquitted of a crime through a legal battle does not mean you didn't commit the crime. Sometimes a mere technicality can reverse a previous verdict of a court. Occasionally, out of pity, a judge may show clemency to an accused or convicted person. Furthermore, those with the ability to argue a legal position may even turn black to white, and the law will accept it as white, when in reality, it is black. This suggests that you might not be innocent; if not, I am quite sure your lawyer would have proceeded to sue the state for compensation. However, understanding the situation, he may have advised you to accept things as they are and to "let sleeping dogs lie."

Just being discharged for wrongful imprisonment for that long without suing for compensation beats my imagination. Or is his lawyer cooling off to enable him first celebrate his acquittal then proceed with compensation process?

In Ghana he wouldn’t get any compensation the government can not even afford to pay pensioners and let alone a prisoner he’s now going to rebuild his life again with no capital.what about his reputation and dignity it’s hard really.
