People should understand that the exchange rate of the US dollar has nothing to do with the Mahama administration. The depreciation of the dollar is largely due to former President Trump's imposition of numerous tariffs on countries trading with the United States. As a result, the dollar has weakened, and many countries are less inclined to engage in trade with America, diminishing the dollar's global significance.

I believe the United States may be heading towards a recession. Unfortunately, some Africans who do not follow international news or conduct proper research mistakenly attributed the fall in the dollar's value to Mahama, praising him as though he was responsible for it. Even now, despite the dollar's diminished influence globally, its value remains higher than the Ghanaian cedi.

The government cannot simply reduce prices while the exchange rate remains relatively unchanged, even if the dollar is losing some of its purchasing power. Mahama, in any case, is not in a position to effect significant change, given his track record of incompetence.

Countries such as China and Mexico have reduced or halted trade with the United States due to the high tariffs imposed under Trump’s administration. This has contributed to the dollar's reduced demand on the international stage.

Africans must take the time to read and research thoroughly in order to better understand global economic dynamics.
