Akufo Addo should be blamed for this because he used Energy Sector Levy created by John Mahama to defry ECG's indebtedness but when Akufo Addo came to power in 2017, he recklessly used the levy as a collateral to secure loan and shared the money among NPP members. He subsequently left a very huge debt before leaving office. GPRTU must be educated on who caused all these problems.

Park all the vehicles at once and let see who will go to work. How could John Mahama gives you just ten percent pay increase and expect you to pay 14 percent on electricity and then 4 percent on water and now increase fuel taxes more than double for you. How can you survive as a human being. The problem is government's failure to communicate to Ghanaians properly on this increase, this is called the Energy Sector Levy Act estasblished in 2015. One of its component is the Energy Sector Debt Recovery Levy. The government within 5months has reduced the dollar rate and decreased fuel price swhich has affected the reduction of goods including spare parts and other products so GPRTU should come clear in the operational cost expenses because their statement do not reflect the reality on the ground. This levy have been paid by Ghanaians (including the GPRTU) for the past ten years, it is not a new tax but a partial increment of the levy from 0.49pesewas to 1 cedi. The challenge is the NPP made 42.2bn cedis equivalent to $4bn from 2017-2025 but because of mismanagement still left an artificial debt of $4bn at the Energy Sector. The question all Ghanaians should be asking the NPP is where is that money and why that money could not still pay off the debt?
