But my question is if you haven't been paid, assured of security, the lavish lifestyle and probably promised to see the president or knowing that it was the president's son who organized this, would you have gone to Ghana?. Now people in power are pursuing past corrupt officials, yet we still see the same thing going on. Ghana is one of the nice places to stay. We have alot of our Nigerian brothers who don't want to go back to home.

You even ask their celebrities to compare. Infrastructure goes beyond having just a pretty airport. No doubt, the ambience of the arrival hall at the KIA is warm and welcoming but after that, what next? The same facilities you find at the KIA is what you'll find in Nigeria and in most airports around the world, perhaps even better. It's more of an issue of functionality for travelers than beauty. The airport is not a recreational spot where you want to spend all the time in the world. I flew to Lagos and back within the week a fortnight ago on Air Peace. There was no jet bridge either way leaving and arriving at the KIA. It could have been because of the size of the aircraft, perhaps it was too low or there were some operational issues. A shuttle bus conveyed passengers to the aircraft and tire terminal. Meanwhile in Lagos, it was a different and more convenient experience. It was the jet bridge with air conditioning straight into the terminal on arrival and onto the aircraft when leaving for the same aircraft model. All aircraft sizes are catered for big or small, and there were no operational issues that caused any disruptions to its use. So, what was the issue in Ghana? Let's even concede that it was an isolated case, but that definitely underscores the importance of functionality over beauty at airports at all times. Ghana is pulling its weight with infrastructure now, however it's not only about the airport and Accra, and seeking validation to stroke your ego. You need to see other cities in Africa, even in the so called Nigeria, and you'll realize there's still a lot of grounds to cover infrastructure wise.
