Credit to Ken Ofori Atta and the NPP since this was due the restructuring made before October 2024. It happened before NDC came to power and started working after January 7th 2025.

@AK, the credit was on 023 and the restructuring is now and present. The poor credit was 2023 so don't give credit to NPP who caused the credit and deficits

Please let's understand that It's not just only about the restructuring but ABILITY TO PAY THE RESTRUCTURED DEBTS which obligations are being HONOURED by prudent fiscal management by the current NDC government.

Please let's understand that It's not just only about the restructuring but ABILITY TO PAY THE RESTRUCTURED DEBTS which obligations are being HONOURED by prudent fiscal management by the current NDC government.

Also the restructuring is only one aspect of the rating.

The current micro and macro environment largely contributed to the upgrade eg exchange rate, inflation, debt to GDP ratio etc are positively upgrading Ghana's rating under PRUDENT MANAGEMENT BY the current government.

Remember Ghana was upgraded from NEAR JUNK STATUS in 2024 to C- in Q1 of 2025, then to C+ before the current B- ratings.

Let's put partisanship aside for once and give credit to Ato Forson and BoG for our current economic climate.

Read the report carefully and you will see that investors are NOW confident that Ghana will not DEFAULT in our debt REPAYMENTS because of ABILITY by the current government to service our external DEBTS.

Apparently it's the level of stupidity with many of our voters that's killing the country.

Wasnt the NPP that brought the country to bankruptcy through their recklessly spending and looting? Even when most financial analysts were warning the government about impending financial crisis, the finance minister came out to assure the public that they will never go to IMF because Ghana is a proud country and we have enough resources. Less than 3 months, the cedis started it's free fall depreciation. That's when the finance minister knew that they don't know what they are doing. Immediately they dash to IMF begging for the IMF loan at the speed of light.

To restructure the massive debts the government decided to suspend and reduce payment to the bond holders many of who are pensioners. This is equivalent to you lend money to someone and the debtor decided not to pay you back when you need to money for medical fees because he wasted the money on girls and alcohol.

Only after this current gov took power and started scrutinize gov expense and uncovered so much looting and stealing during the NPP era. A mere NSS deputy has stolen over 500 million GHS. Imagine the rest. Even during the time Cecilia Dapaah was on the news about her unexplained millions of USD cash in her bedroom, some NPP elders came out and said people were treating Ceilia unfairly because most politicians in NPP government were stealing much more.

Things are moving in the right direction now because of this current government actions to minimize spending and prosecute corruption.

It's laughable that some of those NPP brainless supporters will attribute the blame to NDC for US deciding to put Ghana on the visa ban list. First of all, NDC just came into power less than 6 months, the ban is based on previous years of offenses committed by Ghanaians that travelled to US. As a small country with population less than 20% of Nigerias population, we Ghanaians managed to have almost the same number of cases of over stayed in the US after the expiration of our travel visa as Nigerians.

There always will be 30% absolute moron voters n our country that will vote for their party regardless of how they perform or steal. For some of them it's because they are benefiting financially from it. But majority of them are just low level grass root supporters that get peanuts. They are the illiterates or semi illiterates that support the party as if they are supporting a football club. Most of them probably have a small position or title within the party which is their only achievement in life which is the source of their passion. Even though the party have treated them poorly and did not share the cake when they were in power but these low level party members have no other place to do anyways. They are poor, uneducated and desperate. That's how the party take advantage of them and use them.

Our democracy will not move forward when people are not well educated with good jobs and stable financial means to support themselves. The politicians take advantage of our poverty to buy our votes too easily. Majority of the voters don't vote for what's right for the nation but vote for what's benefits them directly.
