Good move Honorable. They subscription is in USD and now that the cedi is appreciating against the USD, they have to do the necessary adjustments to align with the order of the day.

Some boys are young. It is not and never the responsibility of a minister to negotiate on prices of private busiensses. Rather, the ministry must support NGO watchdogs to monitor and ensure fair pricing. The ministry must also sponsor laws and other mechanisms that will hand hefty fines to businesses which overcharge for services. Check how the EU fines tech giants like Apple, Amazon etc for unfair business practices, monopoly among others. Think and stop the populist actions.

Furthermore, when I spoke about high charges he said the government of Ghana charges 28% per subscription and also the price is always affected by the strength of our currency.
Why are they not reducing subscription charges while the cedi is appreciating against major currencies?

Also some of us decided to take them on through the media. I was told by a sports journalist that these people have 'bought' them already by giving most of the top guys free subscription and other sponsorship packages.
A big reason why the sports journalists in this country don't make it a subject on their programs. Meanwhile the good people of Ghana are being robbed by this company.

Honourable Sam George must also come clean with matters concerning the 28% taxes on each subscription.
We are patiently waiting.

I have them on record.
We the Ghanaian youth must rise.

Estate companies must also be made to reduce their prices to reflect current cedi to dollar rate or face consequences!!!!!

Otherwise soon the Minister of Aggriculture will be negotiating prices with every tomato, wele, onion, pepper and salt seller at Makola, Kaneshie, Labadi, Kejetia and Salaga.

The responsibility of govt is to make policy , better still work with the Ministry of Trade to introduce a Competition Policy for every sector so the private sector will have standards by which it operates and ensure competition to lead to fair pricing. This should be backed by a Trade Commission should the rules be violated where they will levey penalties and fines against violates.

This is how its done and not negotiations with individual private sector. They will laugh at you after they've left the meeting place!
