If I hear a politician and there's a phrase ' let's not politicise' then I ask, what kind of politician he/she is. EC mandate is to organise electoral processes from putting in place a credible voter register to declaring presidential and parliamentary winners. So, what can be said of EC that's not politics? If majority leader says ' let's not politicise EC's decision ', I don't understand what he is trying to say. The issue is centered on politics so how can it be discussed without politics?
