And it is not true that it is only through Christianity that one can get 'salvation'. What salvation? Was Abraham a Christian? Was Moses a Christian? Was Job a Christian?. Christianity has become a haven for all manner of ungodly people. It is now a 'Sycamore'. tree in which all dubious characters have sought refuge. I believe strongly in African traditional religion because it punishes the evil ones whereas Christianity does not. Christianity talks about after death punishment. What after death punishment? Go to the whiteman's country and you will see where Christianity stands. Churches are empty and are being converted into flats,mosques and synagoues. As usual it is the Afirican churches that are alwsys full.

As a Muslim who reads and understands the Qur’an deeply, I find it troubling when religious figures attempt to inject faith into our national politics. The recent remarks by Sheikh Abdul Malik Maiga are not only misguided—they are dangerous. Ghana is a secular, democratic nation where leadership should be based on vision, integrity, and competence—not religious affiliation.

If President Mahama is a Christian, so be it. That should never be a point of division. What matters is whether he can lead with honesty, foresight, and a commitment to the people of Ghana. We must not allow anyone—no matter their title—to sow confusion or sectarianism in our country.

To the Sheikh and others who may share his view: please, do not bring religious division into our political discourse. Ghana’s peace and unity are far more important than any attempt to score spiritual or political points. Let us focus on building a nation where all citizens—Muslim, Christian, or otherwise—can thrive together.
