  How do you put VAT on imported items which is even more than the custom duties? VAT means value added tax on consumer products traded in a jurisdiction. If I ship my own car to use it personally in Ghana, how does it attract VAT? Is Togo not functioning with their free port at Lome? Now the whole of West Africa do most of their trading in Lome. Ghanaians in general have no business sense. They want to rip off people to make the most money in a short time, and this is what the State of Ghana is doing at the Ports.

  Like the airport with a huge number of crazy people who aren't supposed to be there, the ports are even worse. In countries in West Africa, you'd wonder how calm, efficient and business-centered their ports are.

While they stole everything from land to revenue, the rest of the population suffers poverty and ridiculous land prices and import duties.

Security needs to be tightened to prevent any containers just leaving like that. Audit the containers that land at Tema versus the containers that actually are shown to be cleared with customs entries out of Tema.

  I don't think the minisstry of transport is the right institution to do this investigation. Nothing accurate will come out of the investigation. A highly reputable internasional audit firma would've been the best
