I don’t think all money for the attempt to put up a Cathedral came from the State. Organizations, Individuals, and even the Moslem Community even contributed. Some money for the building of the Cathedral. I don’t think that very much of the money came from the State. Many people, organizations and groups would not have contributed if such money was to be used for any roads construction etc because people would have argued that they pay taxes for such purposes. They would have also argued where the sales of our natural resources go to. It is unfortunate that the supposed Cathedral was never completed because it would have been used for different purposes. Akuffo Addo bit more than he could chew, just like King Solomon of Biblical fame did. The building of Solomon’s Temple contributed massively to the defeat and downfall of Israel.
