You charge stealing levies on imports, and you expect people to not react to your stealing levies. Why would you charge VAT on imports when VAT is supposed to be for products sold on markets in Ghana. The VAT is even 100% more than the customs levy.

Every body is entering Togo to buy especially Vegetable oil and all you need is to pay some token to them to this country. I don’t know if the government is blind and are not able to see these things. Just make it legal those who are able to afford let them pay the duties as the same as the Tema port.

Time to sack all Police and Customs personnel siding cocoa smugglers. It is a cabal, ran.ngung from Cocobod who are in league with drivers a d smugglers. Cocoa is supplied cheap to the smugglers who take them through the bush, using tricycles that are driven under night cover past willing Police and Customs personnel.into the next town in Togo. STOP the smuggling now.

The minister should know better. If import duties and charges at the ports are reduced, no one will snuggle goods into Ghana. Why is it so easy to import goods to Lome port but not Tema.
