Having said that, may God punish all those charged with responsibility to ensure safety on our roads but fail to do so. That fuel tanker might not be road worthy but some corrupt DVLA officers probably took bribes and issued the vehicle with a road worthy certificate.
Secondly, if the road was a dual carriageway, that head on collision would have been avoided. Our incompetent politicians don't care about the people who put them in power.
For how long should innocent Ghanaians continue to lose their lives on our roads due to the negligence, corruption and incompetence of our white elephant officials?

The problem with us Ghanaians is that we are the very people who complain of the country's problems but unwilling to expose the rot in the system to correct it. Some of the testing schools, some of the citizens, some of the testers have compromised the process to an extent such that some people I know boast about not going through the process of acquisition but are issues with licenses. Where are the Christians in the society? The Lord God says; 'If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, I will forgive their sins, and will heal their land'. Without this, we are going no where - MAY OUR LORD GOD HAVE MERCY ON GHANA

When will these self appointed prophets and overseers leave us to live our lives?
I know the sect to which these young people belong. Totally indoctrinated, they believe that the children of their leader are angels. Each year, he holds a convention at his headquarters at Oseam, near Kukurantumi where he chooses a maiden to be his wife. In fact, the lecherous saint selected his 9th or 10th wife from the Obogu sect a few years ago.
While his children are born angels, the sect is discouraged from sending the boys and girls to school with the excuse that boarding school tends to lead them away from the sect. It wasn’t until the free SHS system that many of them went to senior high schools.
After the chiefs and elders of obogu welcomed them to resettle in the town when they were driven away from Konkoma near lake Bosomtwe. they refused to respect the customs of the Obogu people. Tuesday is a taboo day where there’s no farming. (Now we know it really is a forest conservation day practised by the ancestors). Till today, they still defy the tradition and go farming on Tuesdays. In the dry season, they will throw away the little water left standing in streams, just to get to the tiny fishes and crabs, a practice which has been banned years ago.
They keep the young men interested in the sect by encouraging them to take many wives, which explains why they don’t want the girls to be educated to think for themselves.
May the souls of these precious young people rest in peace. I will not be surprised that the bereaved parents have already consoled themselves, given their level of indoctrination.
The whole nation has to think about how we can educate our young to be thinkers, unfettered by indoctrination.

A high percentage of serious accidents occurs after commercial vehicles burst their tyres or suffer brake failure. The time has come for the Government to bring in new laws:

1. commercial vehicles can only be fitted with certain approved brand of new tyres
2. commercial vehicles can only have certain brand of new brakes fitted on their vehicles
3. Commercial vehicles must pass a yearly vehicle safety test once a year carried out by approved test centres. In the UK they call it MOT. If a vehicle fails the test, the vehicle is taken off road until the necessary repairs are made and the vehicle passes a retest.

This should significantly reduce the number of fatalities on the road. Time to stop burying our heads in the sand and start bringing in these measures which are routine in the Western world. where these preventable accidents are mercifully rare.
