You are right. While send money to goods whose prices are still high, relative to the drop in dollars value. People in diaspora have paused their projects till prices in Ghana drop correspondingly, or the dollar appreciate back yo 14/15. It is surprising they did not anticipate this was going to cause dollar shortage with respect to inward remittances. People can wait 6months to a year. After all there are better and more secured environments to invest where we work, instead of every body trying to steal from diaspora investors, with no reliable law enforcement backing.

Why should an importer be looking for dollars at the bank to import goods rather than allowing the bank to do a transfer for the import. Bank of Ghana should setup. No dollars should be given to importers if they will not allow the banks to do transfers on their behalf. What are they using the dollars for? Are they supposed to carry physical dollars for trade? Governor of BOG, sit up. Also regulate all abochi in the forex business
