  The minister of defense, the CIC of the Ghana armed forces , the CDS must see to it that the soldiers involved in assaulting the journalist and the civilian should be punished to serve as a deterrent to their military and police compatriots. The abuse of civilians by the military and the police is becoming too common and the citizens must stand up against it . If our soldiers are idle, the government must engage them in other activities. Let them build roads and bridges, engage them in agriculture, fight crime by going after the armed robbers or engage them in construction work . When a country is at peace , soldiers should be engaged in other constructive activities instead of living in their barracks. There are professionals within the armed forces and the government can seek their services during peaceful times.
