    In the case of an Independent candidate, the second contender in the election could be selected. Even if the second placed candidate in dead we can select the third and so on.

    Good idea. In other jurisdictions when a sitting mp passes, or in incapacitated such that he can't perform duties the party nominates someone to continue the said MPs uncompleted term..this is simple n common sense

    KWABENA IS MAKING SENSE. REPLACE A PARTY MEMEBER WHEN WE LOSE THE INCUBENT MP. IT'S AS SIMPLE AS THAT. IT WILL SAVE THE BLOODSHED AND ALSO SAVE US MONEY.

    It is the by-election that creates the violence but the people of the contesting panties so the law must be applied on those who creates violence.
