As much as I see reason in doing this, my question is why target mostly political figures in the sitting government. I think this should be broadband widen your scope if you are actually not witch hunting. Could you also undertake a national, subnational public education to create awareness about this? There are even traditional healers calling themselves Doctors how about that? There are sports men and women who have adopted these titles, even ordinary citizens use this titles and you have to reach everyone from policy level, societal level, community levels and the individual if you mean business else some of us will refer to this exercise as skewed and biased.

Instead of GTEC wasting time, resources and possibly adding to the current level of intolerant noise pollution in Ghana they should stick to how to achieve academic excellence in the Ghana education system.

How and when is GTEC going to publish ways to bring parity via the following:
(1) Executive appointees with PhD's must have area of study and discipline directly associated or applicable to government post to which one is being appointed to have oversight authority
(2). Proof of applied work with published or verification of work experience with direct bearing on assigned post
(3). That a masters level degree held by a person who graduated from a Ghana University and has worked in Ghana is far more capable of oversight responsibility than someone with a doctorate or higher master's level degree from outside Ghana to same post
(4). That advocacy by political party loyalists in the Diaspora is never enough to deserve outright government appointment unless those from abroad have established verified work history in Ghana within 2 years prior to appointment offer

These and others reasons will ensure that the toil of many Ghanaians here at home are not overlooked. What is the political and cultural lessons we teach Ghana's educated class if those who have lived and shared their blood, sweat and tears under the good, bad and ugly government administrations in Ghana are consistently ignored when its time to offer the highest levels of pay and benefits through political spoils? Why do government administrations offer appointments to those from abroad who play the Ghana system as they come to enjoy the fruits of political victory but leave to go back to enjoy lives offered in developed nations from whence they came when the terms of enjoyment/amassing unearned wealth is over?

By the way I know for a fact that Adjunct scholars at some US institutions are called profs and GTEC does not have the universal oversight of prof titles.

The term professor is used loosely for lectures. Someone can be a PhD holder, yet is addressed by students as "Prof". He is addressed as "Prof" only on campus. Nobody cares who he or she is, once he steps out of the university campus.

GTEC is doing a good work to sanitize the misuse of academic titles. However, it should not end there. Anyone found guilty should be prosecuted to send a signal that we as a country do not condone dishonest behavior.
