I personally don’t know the lady Torkonoo in any way. But if she was illegally suspended, then the best thing is for her to be reinstated. We live in a Democratic country that believes and accepts the Rule of Law. Ghana is not a kind of North Korea or China where Rules of Law can be arbitrary. I don’t think the International Bodies calling for her reinstatement are just barking from the Blue. This is not the era of the Dictatorship of Efo Jeremiah John Rawlings. Even Efo was made to come back to his senses. Let us do away with the Period of Arbitrariness.
If she is truly at fault, the Government can revisit her issue and reinstate her. Libya did not get much benefit from the arbitrary rule of Quathaffi. The country ended up engulfed in a horrible and dangerous civil war. Ghanaians don’t want that

3. But the NDC government was under compulsion to fulfill an NDC campaign promise, namely that:
Chief Justice Torkornoo must be removed from the bench of the Supreme Court of Ghana.
4. The majority of the voters empowered the NDC to fulfill the NDC campaign promises

Everything about this mischievous exercise completely is inconsistent with due process and justice. The lacuna in interpreting Article 146 should tell everyone that we should allow the spirit of the law to engage, instead of being pedantic to allow an imperfect constitution (no constitution is perfect in this world) to plod on to achieve a mischievous end. Secondly, the so called Council of State, how did they arrive at their misconduct conclusions on the part of the Chief Justice; very dishonest bunch of people. Thirdly, any attempt to shield the complainants from cross examinations diminishes the quality of the process. Furthermore, the lead judge Pwamang is understood to have sat in one of the cases in question, with a dissenting view from the Chief Justice . The list goes on, and on; and what is Doyina Mensa talking about.

The legal bodies who have expressed some disquiet about the process, just like the protests from some learned lawyers in Ghana have legitimate concerns about the whole process. If we're honest, there's no justification in the clandestine attempt to remove the chief justice.

The Commonwealth lawyers and the UK Bar association, especially the Government Legal Department often advises the UK government in legal issues. Those who are impugning these bodies are leading Ghana to shoot herself in the foot. If you want investors, know that justice delivery is paramount for foreign investors.
