Youth unemployment has also been a concern, with a rate of 5.41% in 2024, though this has declined from the all-time high of 16.31% in 2000.

We need to move away from mixed farming and venture into large scale plantation of food crops and what have you. Plantain plantation, cocoyam plantation, yam, cassava, millet and so forth. The youth will definitely be attracted into farming. THIS WILL GIVE IMPETUS TO THE SO CALLED ONE DISTRICT, ONE FACTORY IDEOLOGY AND GHANA WILL BE MOVING. I do not understand the political folly that makes presumed university educated MP's make the argument that the 24-hour economy is not a policy because it is not accompanied by some damn policy papers and does not stand a chance for success. Did you need policy papers, Hon Afenyo Markin, on the real estate ventures you're engaged in that is funding your lifestyle? Why did the policy papers on Ghana-card/ National-ID not save the system from granting Rev Kusi Boateng duplicate ID or cards for a system that is supposed to prevent duplication of identification cards because of reliance on individual biometric data?

Let me give you, Hon Afenyo Markin the secret to lowering unemployment in Ghana; "guarantee prices of all farm produce. Cocoa farmers stayed on cocoa farms because the government guaranteed prices for each bag of cocoa beans. Apply the basic common sense to corn, plantain, cocoyam, cassava and many many more.

You and your fellow MP's are willing to kill to win elections knowing that your salaries and perks are guaranteed. All of you would not be making the silly political noises if MP's did not know how much petro stipend, monthly wage, monthly allowance you can get at the end of each month. So do for the citizens of Ghana what you MP's do for yourselves.
