Hon Ntim Fordjuor does not seem to be either classroom smart or street smart; the sole mandate of the Ghana Armed Forces is defense of the nation against all its external enemies. The nation's internal/interior security falls on the Ghana Police services with information sharing coming from the Ghana Security Service Bureau.

While the Armed Forces may be called upon to supplement personnel and logistical support where interior protection have fallen short, it is still the case that the Armed Forces are solely responsible for protecting the country against foreign enemies.

Ghana government revenues will be well spent when the staff of the Ghana Armed Forces, Police Service, the fire services, prison service personnel are well trained and managed and above all are well regulated and disciplined professionals.

It starts with both the NPP and NDC political parties refraining from using the services to recruit unqualified and mostly intellectual illiterates into the sectors to appease party support base on some foolish quota system.

The Ghana Armed Forces, the Ghana Police Service and Ghana Security Bureau are not agencies for the type of foolishness and crass behavior or illogical debates our honorable MP have normalized; people get hurt or die when the Armed Forces, Police force and Intelligence services fail in their core missions and mandates.

If Hon. Ntim Fordjour is serious about reforms he and other MP's should mandate the introduction of ROTC - officers Training- program at SHS through tertiary education. Those interested in becoming professionals in the military, police, firefighter, prison service and etc would earn their certifications through years of training and preparation. It will certainly make annual service enrollment exercises easy with good all round candidates for the services. This will ensure that there is no more backdoor political conscription of ignorant political party foot soldiers to engage in politically induced conspiracies and sabotage.
