  Everything turn to politics in Ghana. So when do students takes responsibilities for themselves too. Adults did not send foreign materials to the Exams Halls, did they. These students known whats right and wrong, dont they.

  She has not been a Teacher before and doesn’t know what students are capable of doing to cheat and pass exams. I have been an Educationist all my life. I have been a Housemaster and Dean of Students and I know what students are capable of doing to beat the system. Students know that cheating during exams are not acceptable but they go on to teach. Why should they not be punished for cheating in exams? Let them suffer for their actions.
  Admittedly, adults are largely responsible for Standardized Examination malpractices. This event includes parents. Adults sell WAEC question Papers to students. Some Parents buy Question Papers for their children. This is not something new. Our System is damn corrupt and some Teachers are even prepared to reveal Examination Questions to students who are usually not well prepared and don’t want to pay. WAEC usually sends Examination Questions to the Police Station to prevent leakages. Yet, some parents and Teachers are able to get Questions out to students sometimes Two days before students write such Questions. Can you see how our School System and Examinations System can be corrupt. School Systems, Parents, Teachers, and Students are all damn corrupt. Such students who write their Exams on leaked Papers should be punished. All others who are involved should even be given some Prison terms to discourage others from doing same.

  As a teacher myself I support you 100% by replacing this BECE with Continuous Assessment program. This system l think could induce the students to take their daily studies more seriously and also make them active in participating effectively in all classroom activities. Moreover, attendance shall improve tremendously if students are made to understand that their assessment for promotion to the next level shall dwell on say 60% of cumulative classroom performance and 40% exams results. I personally don’t approve the fact a student should suffer as a result of exams question leakages initiated by some unscrupulous WAEC officials and teachers. Let leadership listen and go to the drawing board for deliberations. We don’t need to be canceling results arbitrarily.
