That’s not really only solution here ,, what is more needed is full scale investigation of the abuses against innocent poor farmers who have nothing to do with the conflict . Accountability and justice for the Lobi people who have suffered abuses in the hands some violent and lawless chiefs is what is needed . Mediation alone cannot deter people from using warriors to burn done properties and kill innocent simply because they belong to a different ethnic group. It’s about time the laws are enforced to the letter without fear or favor .

It was extremely wrong of the lobis to attack the chief and kill his son over a piece of land. Once u provoke the owners of the land in this gruesome manner there will be chaos. If the chief sells land, no one has a right to prevent the developer without recourse to the chief. At best get elders from lobis to intercede. But to attack the developer, chief and his son was extreme provocation knowing very well the Gonjas will not take it lightly.
See what the action of a few misquided elements have caused.

The question of who attacked who first is what must be answered in an inquiry . No one condones violence and I personally will Never -ever advocate for violence against anyone , let alone murder . But who attacked who first ? Wasn’t it the chiefs son and his armed men who went to the village to beat them up and in the process killing one , therefore generating a reprisal attack from the villagers ?? Secondly why attack and kill innocent villagers who have no relationship whatsoever with the people of gbeniyir ? Why would the sin of one person be the sin of everyone else who belongs to the same ethnic group? It’s wrong to do so in all senses.
