The IGP was at Akwatia with a group of police men to try to supervise the by-election. It was there that the vice-chair of the NDC for some reason threatened to kill or cause a by-election at the constituency of the minority leader, Afenyo- Markin.
Earlier another NDC supporter also threatened same person and others if they came to Akwatia.
So the issue Abronye was addressing was the partisan and selective justice that we are all observing in Ghana under the present government.
Abronye committed no offence. Being the regional chairman of the NPP in Bono region, he reacted in a way every party leader would if they got such platform and media.
I heard everything he said and in a democracy even if the other party felt aggrieved or insulted, the best place to take him was through the civil courts. There is no law in the constitution of Ghana which allows people regardless of their position in authority to misuse their power to harass and intimidate people. Insults are not libellous. Because they bothered on dereliction of duties. And every citizen has a right to criticise any wrongful act of the government.
