If Mahama is not able to deal with the galamsey issue as he promised, then his government would be classified as a failure in any historical accountability of presidential candidates. He is dilly-dallying to run away from responsibility. Such action would only go to confirm and justify assertion of incompetence alluded to him after his first term. I thought he knew better to change such perception. So far, he has not shown any indication his administration is different from the corrupt and incompetent NPP. Asiedu Nketiah gave similar incomprehensible explanation as to why galamsey is still being practiced. It looks like Ghanaians are going to be disappointed.

Then ndc flagbearer of ndc, said if voted to power galamseyers won't be chased away and he went further to say that he would free jailed galamseyers. Based on this promise, the galamseyers got a field day right after JDM was sworn in so it's a done deal for the galamseyers.

As per the president, he has not seen enough destruction of the land, water bodies, the environment, the eco system and the health effects to classify galamsey as an emergency. That is pathetic. Ghanaians were all counting on Mahama to end galamsey. If a military ruler has ordered galamsey to stop, I bet you every body will stop it immediately. Our inability to stop galamsey is due to weak leadership.
