Screw the Police. They're not doing their work, they're misusing their authority and the court to wrongly prosecute Abronye for expressing his right to free speech. Is abuse of citizens is not part of the mission of the Police and therefore can't be deemed as 'work'. Tyranny often takes hold when citizens remain silent while their fellow citizens are being wrongly prosecuted by authorities, all because the the person being wrongly treated just happens to belong to an opposing party. Ghanaians must always fight to have the government respect the laws of the land, and that includes the right of citizens to freely express themselves as long as they're not making any threats against any person or the government. The actions of the Police against Abronye borders on a gross misuse of governmental power. The Police are merely trying to please the government by pretending that Abronye is in trouble for making false claims against the IGP. The Police are supposed to serve the public, not to abuse the public.

If many Ghanaian including the NDC has done it the past in order to secure traveling visa, they had misrepresented false documents and every must be brought back to Ghana to face the laws.

All Embassies in Ghana should report all Ghanaian applicants who came to secured visa due for false misrepresentation of Asylum protection to Interpol and police and Ghana immigration. Enough is enough. No wonder you can't stay in London anymore.

The world is watching closely, including those of us observing from the United States of America. Christian Tettheh Yohono is unfit for the position of IGP, and under his watch the police service risks becoming a tool of nuisance rather than justice.

The President’s focus should be on arresting and prosecuting corrupt officials, not settling personal scores. It is shameful for our nation to stoop so low as to remand citizens simply because they criticized or insulted a politician. This is not the path of democracy, nor is it the conduct of a free and just society.

If today it is Abronya, tomorrow it will be bloggers, journalists, and any other citizen who dares to hold government accountable. The youth must rise and peacefully demonstrate against this dangerous precedent. Ghana deserves leadership that protects freedom, upholds the rule of law, and prioritizes fighting corruption over silencing critics.

Continuous insults against Heads of institutions by extension will affect their image in society. Hence the need to protect same & punish wrong doing.

It saddens the critical thinkers when someone naively uses the phrase "the law is the law" without diligently explaining its meaning in the context of a specific situation. Which part of the law says the police have the power to prosecute someone for a purpoted offence without giving them a fair hearing. The neutrals are observing and it our hope that the law is applied effectively and efficiently. The international community is watching due to circumstances leading to the arrest and the government needs to thread carefully. If things goes wrong, there will be difficult questions to answer.

It is quite lame and bogus to suddenly give power to the court now. There are vivid precedences that led to the arrest with the gentleman crying for help and protection. Was it the court that was hunting him by then and not the IGP? Certainly not, and you follow the case logically it would deliberate to try and divert power to the court. This is how it looks like:
1. I am the police and have the power to arrest and detain someone.
2. I will then take him to court "still detained" and tell the court that he/she has committed a serious crime.
3. And must still be detained until judgement because he is a threat to society.
4. And the court will do as instructed.
And if any one asks, I will tell them it is the court's decision.
This is unfair, unjust and totally unacceptable.

In my opinion, he might be acting on orders from the above. Look at the RAMBO style the police picked Abronya up. What crime has he committed? What he done is nowhere near what Kervin Taylor is doing. He was in Ghana recently, and who gave him protection? The
government of Ghana. He was even housed in a mansion which was dedicated as the residence of our vice presidents. This IGP was in Ghana but took no action. What this IGP is doing is nothing but selective political justice. OKOTO DE, NE BO DWE, BUT NYEYANKYERE DE, YE MA NO NKO. The IGP has one set of rule for NPP operatives and another different set for NDC members. This is tantamount to moral corruption.

If Mahamah doesn't like what's going on, why's he not speaking out or kick the IGP out of office? Can he still continue be the without the support of the president?
His silence and aquiesense makes him a party to what this politically induced NDC IGP is doing. Insulting a public figure is NOT a criminal offense in Ghana. The IGP can take Abronye to from a civil angle not to settle his personal issue against any citizen by abusing the power invested in to protect the nation.

Abronya should declare himself a a POLITICAL prisoner and boycott this court and not to participate in any proceedings of this unlawful arrest. This politically induced IGP is making Abronya larger than is.

Last but not the least, the judge who remanded him for another week should be ashamed of him or herself. Remand for a week for what? To do more investigation?

IGP in my opinion, is trying to intimidate and silence any opposition against the president, period. It will not help our young democracy at all. Did anybody arrest Sam George, Okujato Abrakwah, Ofosu Kwakye, Sammy Gyamfi and other NDC operative for the insults and lies they put out there during the regime of Akuffo Ado?

Shame on you President Mahamah. Power corrupts indeed.
