Never have I heard him even quote one authority to back his claims. He talks as though he was present when the events happened. And the ignorant journalists accept whatever nonsense he says without question because they themselves don’t research before they invite this guy.

In other places, this guy would have been arrested or abused for his miseducation of the public.

If he is a true historian, he should write a peer review paper so that other scholars can dive deeper into the lies he is always telling and put the facts right.

Ghana is gradually becoming a failed state due to freedom of speech which allows such people to speak anyhow.

The Muslims, the Turks, the Arabs and Colonial Powers all needed regular supply of slaves for their campaigns. Ashanti had their supply from the North, East and West. So there is nothing new here about any major empire worldwide obtaining slaves for war. King Azantilow of Builsa will tell you how the Dagombas and their allies constantly raided the smaller tribes in the North for slaves to be used in wars. Ashanti also had supplies from across the Volta.
Place names all over the world have interesting and complex origins, some being adopted from other languages and cultures. Take names in Accra as examples. Look at names in the United States of America. Jewish, Spanish, German, French names all over because of migration and settlement. Having about a dozen Ayigbe Towns in Accra does not mean that Niimei purposely gave their Sisters and Daughters to Efo and his Brothers. If so, anyone in the USA would have black dna.

Bantama got its when folks from the Northern and Upper Regions brought shea nut fruits (known in their languages as 'tama') to Kumasi many decades ago and would eat those fruits and discard the nuts all over the streets of Kumasi. The people of Kumasi became sick and tired of these nuts being thrown all over the streets and they started a campaign to 'ban' those 'tama' fruit nuts on the streets of Kumasi. The community that had raised the most hell about banning this tama nut mess eventually became known as Bantama, and the name has stuck to this day. One can just imagine the chants around Kumasi in those years echoing all over the city, "Ban tama, ban tama, ban tama". The tama fruit nut was never banned, but Kumasi gained a new name, Bantama, for a subdivision of Kumasi.

Dagombas, and in fact many northerners were slaves and labourers to the Ashantis and as such were used to lead wars. They were placed at the forefront so they had to fight fearlessly for survival. All great kingdoms used slaves for this purpose among other daunting tasks. Even though one should be proud for ever enslaving another human being, the fact that many northerners were in the past slaves to the Ashantis can't be overwritten.

Lawyer Anokye wants us to believe that Ashantis were fearful. This is an academic dishonesty; a blatant lie; and borned out of sheer jealousy.

He posited the at another time that it was Okomfo Anokye who advised the Ashantis to accept foreign settlers, the Ashantis learned how to build houses from the Fantis, when Fante settlers built Fante New Town, the Ashantis copied them and built Ashanti New Town (Ashtown). This is all loads os nonsense.

Denkyira ruled Ashantis for just 27 year from 1700 to 1727 but this Ashanti hatred-filled lawyer Anokye makes it look like Ashantis were pepertual slaves to the Denkyiras. Ashanti ruled, dominated, and enslaved the Denkyiras, and in fact many other tribes for well over 200 years.

Lawyer Anokye, please return the bribe taken from Dormaahene Agyimi Badu and stop the distortions. No one can bring a Kingdom great like that of Ashanti down.

People who doubt me should tell people on this forum where Osei Tutu was from.. Many Asante people were and still married to people from the North. Go to Asawase, Obuasi, Agona Asante, Ejura, Mampong Asante, Wiamoase and find out. I grew up at Kwabere Sekyere, and know much of Asante history. That is why it became law in Asante that OBI NKYERE OBIARA ASE because many of their chiefs and Royal families have their ancestors from the North of Ghana. Typical Asante people are smaller and shortish in nature. If you doubt my assertion, go and ask the Asantehene. If he wants to be honest, he will tell you the truth. 3. The Bantama Chief today is a descendants of those Northern settlers and that's why Bantama is patrilineal.

Dagomba and other soldiers were part of the tribute that the groups that were part of the Asante Kingdom had to give to the Asantehene. How could the Asante/Akans have won wars against other groups in Ghana if they were "afraid" in war? Akan chiefdoms in the Kumasi area initially established the Asante state as a self-defence pact against enslavement and, particularly, the demands for tributes by Denkyirahene Ntim Gyakari. They later extended to other Akan chiefdoms and other ethnic groups to buttress their defence against enslavement. The original cause was the demands of the Europeans for slaves, for which Denkyirahene Ntim Gyakari received arms and became the most powerful Akan Chief until the Asante defence pact defeated him at Feyiase. (Note that there were no Dagomba soldiers in the early centuries of the formation of the Akan state when they won many battles). The Dagomba soldiers were, most likely, brave as the best were sent as tributes. However, to say that the "Akans were afraid" was the reason why is logically false.

By the way, for those who do not know. Asante/Akan Generals were sent to train Dagomba soldiers. They lived at Karaga, where the chief was the war leader of the Dagomba ethnic group. Some of their offspring still lived at Karaga in the 1980s when I visited there. They had Akan names -- Nana Boakye, Nana Mensah etc. This is a fact that people who know Karaga/Dagomba history will be aware of.
