Economic gains of the appreciation of the Cedi was not going to last for long when the weak economic fundamentals had not been given serious attention. Wait till there is turbulence in the global economy and the Cedi will exchange for 17 or 18 to $1. Mahama must look closely at how to achieve resilience in the economy and stop the populism stance on his achievements. Very little has changed at the prices of food/goods / services, at the market.

Why are we pretending as if we do not know that annually around this time of the year we have foreign exchange issues and the cedi always depreciates against the dollar. That notwithstanding it also does not mean that the government should not take steps to ensure that the cedi is stable. We do not have an impossible situation it all depends on government to put in place serious plans for us to grow and eat what we can and stop the imports.
