Ghana has to set up a special judiciary committee to review the rulings of our judges in the country. It seems this case with Abronye has highlighted the importance of such a body . Ghana has for many years witnessed Judges passing sentences to convicted people that do not make any sense. Sometimes one may wonder if our legal system does not have any sentencing guidelines or guidelines for granting bails . For the same crimes that requires a jail term , one judge in a jurisdiction can sentence a person to ten years while a judge in another jurisdiction may impose two years . Why the disparity. It seems judges can impose whatever sentences that fits their ego without any oversight. The law must treat every body equal because there is no fairness in our legal system. Some of the jail terms and bailing requirements do not make any sense.
