Irrelevant! We don't need any research to tell Ghanaians air pollution is a problem. What we need is law enforcement. Several vehicles with VALID roadworthy certification on their windscreens are daily seen with thick exhaust fumes on our roads. Scrap collectors are seen everywhere burning plastic waste. Dusty roads are everywhere and we see them with our eyes; we don't need any study!

This report is a bit far fetched. Even in industrially polluted countries like the Asian tigers, Europe and America, where manufacturing concerns are perpetually polluting the environment with all manner of cryogenic pollutants, vehicle emissions, other industrial waste, domestic waste etc, and air pollution is a major issue, air pollution is not the leading cause of deaths. Further research is needed.

This is not surprising! There is never a day that goes by in the life of Ghanaians when people are not out there burning every kind of thrash or anything we can put in a heap!! And most of the stuff we try to burn are actually hazardous waste. We believe that we are burning all these stuff in our yards or compounds but we are exposing everyone to this. All because we do not have any laws which forbids unnecessary burning of 'shit' all over Ghana.

What action will be taken in response to the findings...? Nana Addo promised to make Accra the cleanest city in Africa but today we see the opposite. Even dust all over the region seems to be considered by our politicians as normal so long as they ride in V8s and their sirens get them through our traffic when taxpayers rather pull aside for them!!! This is normal and so no action is taken as they collect their monthly salaries and enjoy their benefits unconcerned about this health menace. Maybe a prophet needs to come tell them what to do different!!!
