Even in analogue times one can return to Ghana from any part of the world using a TC (TRAVEL CERTIFICATE) in the absence of a passport. Using Ghanacard to return to your own country is nothing special. It has always been there via a TC. @Ama, the issue is not about going to America or not. It's about the use of Ghanacard as a passport. Stay on ciurse. Don't let Bawumia fool you. A Ghanacard is NOT a passport.

Just finding an excuse to belittle what someone has achived and in the process expose your backward mindset. Secondly, for those who travel with a British passport to Ghana for example, no longer require a Ghana VISA in their British passport if you have a Ghana card. You just present your Ghana card with your British passport at the checkin counter and off you go. You can convince yourself he did nothing for you to benefit personally from. But anyone with a bit of enlightenment knows the Ghana card is a game changer which has reduced the numerous ID documents one needed to do business and I hope this Govt builds on what the previous Govt did with Ghana card. That is how to build a nation.

If you are traveling to a country outside of the ECOWAS region or a country that does not have an e-passport agreement with Ghana, you will need your physical passport.
