Though the reason for accepting the deportees makes humanitarian sense, it should have gone to parliament. The government should have taken a cue from the GITMO three and the US military base both of which attracted some scrutiny with majority of Ghanaians supporting parliamentary approval prior to the unilateral decision by the then Akuffo Addo’s government. We must learn from past mistakes.
