We know from reliable sources within the late Founder's Family and from the NDC that Rawlings was against the choice of Mahama as Vice to Atta Mills. This led to two factions emerging for and against. For Rawlings, most of the old guard could not break with their Boss. For Mahama, it was the group of Babies with Sharp Teeth.
This development isn't a cardinal sin in politics. The Winner let's go of bitterness, reunites the various factions and often, reaches out to the losing side.. But John Mahama is not the one to forgive. The mention of Rawlings in his presence makes you a traitor. Most or all of Rawlings' people have been sidelined and the likes of Okudzeto Ablakwa, Julius Debrah and Victor Smith who backed Mahama have been heavily rewarded. Can the status quo be maintained post Mahama? Are we likely to see a Unifier, or will the Ahwois, Totobi Quarchie, Tony Aidoo and Nunoo Mensah manage to get someone from the Rawlings Camp to take charge?
