He was appointed as the Regional Commissioner for the Northern Region of Ghana under Kwame Nkrumah.

Mr Bawumia, father of the immediate past vice-president became jealous and envious so he lied about him behind to president Nkrumah who removed him from the position before finding out. It was later established that old Bawumia was just envious of the position being held by his own friend and wanted it to be given to him.

As a result, Nkrumah suspended Bawumia as well as denying him the position.

He called Mahama to apologise and tried to reverse the decision but he refused to accept. Surprisingly their sons resemble their fathers. Lying and humility. No names mentioned

It is time for the Supreme Court to deal with the status of Ghana Bar Association (GBA) as to whether or not, the GBA should be the only recognised private association of legal professionals and that all legal professionals must necessarily join it.

The SC has to determine whether or not other private legal professional associations should enjoy the same constitutional recognition accorded the GBA in the 1992 constitution.

Alternatively, now that other legal professional associations have been formed as enshrined in the constitution for freedom of association, the GBA should be stripped of this constitutional recognition monopoly and bring it apar with the other associations to ensure equality per article 17.

The constitutional review commission needs to address this issue as we strife to amend the 1992 Constitution to respond to changing trends which the drafters of the 1992 constitution did not contemplate .

One of the attributes of a good constitution is the organic characteristics capable of growth.
