Very unbelievable. It looks like there is currently corruption at every facet of Ghana. This is extremely shameful. It is true that ABUGISS has been a very prestigious institution since our days and many parents, including Politicians and very rich people struggle to gain admission for their daughters into that school.
I very much remember the days when Mrs. Adobe’s was the Headmistress. Even Visitin Hour Rules were very stringent for every parent or Guardian.. It was just not easy to just jump in there to visit someone. Yes those were the Good Old Days.. Even Regional Commissioners knew the rules and obeyed them. I remember traveling with Joseph Manu of Blessed Memory who was the Principal of SDA Teacher Training College at Koforidua who wanted to see his daughter on our way to Accra. He was well known and respected by many people including Mrs. Asibey. We entered into the school because he told the Gateman that he wanted to see Mrs. Asibey. You can’t believe it that she did not allow him to see his daughter because it was not a Visiting Time. Things have changed for the worse now. Everything in Ghana has become extremely corrupted. Let someone name me one area in Ghana that has not been corrupted now. We now live in a shameful, yes, a really very shameful Ghana.

There is "helter skelter" in the shs placement exercise now. So much movements!. Desperate, corrupt, greedy parents, after thieves and corrupt officers. We all need to change because the worse is ahead. Sad for mother Ghana.

This was introduced under Nana Addo administration. I paid 4,000 two years ago and 7,000 last year before my daughters was placed in their first choice school upon they scored 13 and 9. My friend is requested to pay 10,000 this year to place her daughter in her first choice. When corruption lasted for years It become a tradition. Nana Addo administration brought a lot of corruption into Ghana and it is becoming a tradition. We have to fight it now or we turn like Nigeria.

Ghanaians, especially some particulary tribe are deadly corrupt. Even when the system is tightened to eliminate all forms of corrupt, they'll still find a way to outwit the syatem. Now, public jobs are sold to the highest bidder, school placement the same, promotion, is same, scholarship, etc. Almost every facet of the Ghanaian society is heavily corrupted.

In 2020 some of the people in charge were demanding from GH8000 and above for categories A List Schs and GH4000-5000 for B List Schs. I called to check for a friend's child who wasn't placed, the officer later called and demanded 5000gh for category B Sch which we didn't pay. So it's not NDC or NPP this is what some of the officers at the Secretariat do, some are corrupt.
