The sight of the collapsed and crumbled building of the Aborigines Rights Protection building in Cape Coast is an utter disgrace to the memory of the brave souls who fought to preserve the country's land from the British and laid the foundation for the country's independence. The government must rebuild that historic site now!

  While Mensah Sarbah holds the distinction of being the first lawyer from the Gold Coast to be called to the English bar, he ws not the first lawyer from Gold Coast as most claim. The first lawyer was Samuel Brew, Esq. who qualified 15 years earlier and set up his practice in Cape Coast. He sponsored his nephews Mensah Sarbah and Casely Hayford to UK to study law and Sarbah graduated first. The nephews also served on the editorial board of their uncle's newspaper, another first.
