But here you are with a typical Ghanaian recent graduated nursing student who feels entitled to receive free monies from government while a student but when asked by HE John Mahama to make a sacrifice by trading nursing student allowances for a guaranteed employment upon graduation was too dumb to accept, lacking foresight yet full of tribal and political party hatred.

Would that cork-eye nurse and her peers accept similar behavior from anyone if the venom with which she spoke had been directed at her father or anyone close to her or to members in her preferred political party? I can tolerate her ignorance and use of abusive and disrespectful posture if she had the facts to back every statement she made.

This areas started before the current government which is less than 1 year old but those nurses are owed more than 1 year. 3. How did some of you nurses get those appointments letters as the former finance minister of NPP could only pay for few extra nurses and therefore those limited appointments letters. 4 . The present government is trying to employ you all with fake appointments letters as you have been working and filled those vacancies but they need approval from parliament. It has to be captured in the budget for you to be paid.

In the UK, doctors come under the General Medical Council.Nurses are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board.These bodies are there to regulate the professional and public behaviour of their members and,have powers to suspend or,strike off any member of those professionals who brings their respective profession into disrepute .
I don’t have any doubt at all that,Ghana has similar bodies.
If a nurse behaves in a way unbecoming of their professional standing,their respective professional bodies have a right to investigate and if found to be guilty,sanctioned. This has nothing to do with freedom of speech and all to do with professional code of conduct.

But as the saying goes, the oppressed speaks a million tongues. GHS has the audacity to ask the nurse to answer query for her misconduct of insulting Minister of Health. Patients that those nurses, who have not been paid for 10 months, also demand similar answers from GHS for risking their lives. What kind of mental frame will these nurses be operating from for working for 10 months without salary? It is very dangerous to have someone attending to sick people work for 10 months without salary. Let me ask the one who wrote the query letter a simple question. If you have any query, it has to go to the government and the Minister who hasn't paid the nurses for 10 months? Is the Minister not being paid every month? Is the President not being paid every month? How do you expect someone to work for 10 months without pay? I live in the US and there's no way someone will not be paid even 1 month. Most workers get their pay every week or every 2 weeks. And you will never hear that the pay didn't come that week or that 2 weeks. There will be serious commotion in that work place. And so how do you expect someone to go to work without being paid for 10 months? How is he/she going to feed him/her self? How will they pay their rent, transportation, medical bills, school fees, etc, etc. And for you guys to sympathize with her or them, you have rather made her a scape goat for voicing her grievances. So you're telling the government or supporting the Ministry that it's ok for not paying their workers? Are we stupid? Where's workers union? So eventually she's going to be fired for speaking her mind. Have we come so low to this? This is pitty.
