  Exactly why would government just distribute birds to just anyone because it's a Political initiative without taking into consideration the recipients capacity to handle them safely. I hope this will also not turn out to be a waste of the tax payers money like the Tree planting by SADA in the North that cost us 32million ghc and only 700, 000 trees could be accounted for.

  Only professional poultry farmers should be given birds to grow. Any new entrants should be adequately trained before given birds to rear on very small scale. I would suggest cockerels to be used for that training periods ...

I would suggest cockerels to be used for that training periods please. This laudable initiative by government must succeed with patience and care from the right approach.
