The problem wasn't Jerry John Rawlings AT ALL, but the fools in the Ministry of Education and the Education Service for their (1) failure of appreciation and ineffective studies of the school system, and (2) an equal and corresponding bad implementation policies deployed, which is known of Ghana institutions and endemic throughout the country.

Rawlings was a Ghana-oriented leader who invited impactful contributions from everyone, especially intellectuals in every field to help improve the country's dynamic development, an evolving and adaptation process required to stimulate advancement and growth.

Would Rawlings police everything? Those involved quickly identified money-making schemes within the system took advantage of them, and like in everything else, mismanagement led us to where we are.

Corruption was widespread, kalabule was everywhere and no consumer goods to find in the shops, practically no development projects anywhere in the country, and worse of all people were starving, etc. With such prevailing conditions why shouldn't Rawlings be angry when he took over power from his senior military commanders? PASSION Vs ANGER

Being passionate about anything generates a strong buildup of energy within. Anger is a channel to release some of that energy to fuel passion and creativity. The same anger can also be a source of much trouble with those you closely interact with. When anger is devoid of self-awareness, self-control and discipline it will spiral out of control, and in a way that has very little to do with the passion.

The passion can simply become the excuse.

Unregulated anger can unintentionally hurt others who cannot relate or understand your passion. People who do not appreciate the extent of your passion, can easily translate impulsive rage into disrespect for them. Their ego and their fears may also cause them to respond in ways that you too perceive as irrational. No one enjoys the feeling of someone else’s emotional punch bag anymore than you like the feeling of being misunderstood.

By the way, they don’t have to understand you, and you don’t have to understand them, if neither of you wants that. However, you need to recognize that you can control experiencing their misunderstanding somewhat if you can gain control of your anger. Clearly, this is entirely up to you.

So it boils down to this question: Can you perhaps channel all your anger towards your passion alone, and not allow any of that energy to leak out and affect (and infect) others in a way that results in misunderstanding?

I hope you find that sweet spot.

The fact that Mr. Rawlings created all the things you mentioned in your post and his contribution to building Ghana doesn't take away the fact that he led the country without anger. The learned Professor has not distorted any fact about Mr. Rawlings, he's rather setting the record straight. In my opinion, the professor was putting things in the right perspective. During Rawlings' reign as head of state, his speeches alone testify to what the professor said. If you have a contrary view, go back to the radio any radio station or go on YouTube and search for some of the old speeches of your mentor and listen to them attentively without bias and you will beat witness to the fact that Rawlings always spoke with anger. He tried to change when he became an elected president. Honorable Dafeamekpor, if you were a kid during his time as a military leader, please swallow your pride and take the education from the learned Professor.
