This is a stupid decision by the EPA. The kinpins behind Galamsey activities are well known but officialdom is afraid to apprehend them. The Changfan is another form of the sluice box. Can you ban the Changfan and not ban the ...

Nonsensical action! We need a total ban, no caveats. Is this a ban or one needs permission from EPA?

Another stupid avenue to enrich EPA Officials who give permits to chanfan users.

    Rotten Kingdom of Donkeys.

Who told EPA chanfan is only used for galamsey? I use chanfan on my farm to produce food for these same idiots calling for it's ban. These are novices who obviously have no clue what they are saying.

  • Ghanaman 1 month ago

It’s a good step. Please make sure it is enforced.

THERE SHOULD BE NO CHANFAN ON ANY OF OUR RIVERS OR WATERBODIES.

    SIMPLE.

  • Wakkuffo Waddo 1 month ago

Please EPA, go to atiwa en route to Kumasi. You will see welding shops producing Changfang almost every time I pass by.
This is a good way to end the pollution of water bodies.
    Let's try to enforce this.

A step in the right direction, however I propose that this policy be backed by law sanctioned by Parliament. Offenders can then be punished also people cannot go back to it when there's a change in government.

  • Sammy 1 month ago

Long overdue. Go further. Stop its importation to Ghana. Any such equipment seen anywhere in the country must be seized by the Police. Can we do this?

  • Fireman 1 month ago

Hey, we need it for construction work ooo. Like block cutting machines that are not on grid. I will say those who use it for illegal things should prosecuted not just a blatant ban

  • Son of man 1 month ago

They will seize them and release them overnight. Ghana is a joke.

  • Brownie 1 month ago

Excellent. A very good move. Chanfan should no more be used in this our beloved country. God bless you
