This Individuals found guilty of financial crimes, such as stealing and money laundering, should face imprisonment to serve as a deterrent. For instance, Gifty Oware-Mensah, former Deputy Executive Director, allegedly stole GH¢31,502,091.40 and faces charges including money laundering and using public office for personal profit.
- *Restitution and Fines*: Those found guilty should be ordered to refund the misappropriated funds and pay substantial fines. The Auditor-General has recommended surcharging implicated officials, including former Executive Director Osei Assibey Antwi, for the full amount of irregular payments with interest.
- *Administrative Action*: NSS officials involved in the scandal should face administrative penalties, such as dismissal and bans from holding public office. This would help prevent future occurrences and restore public trust.
- *Systemic Reforms*: Implementing reforms, such as automated verification checks and strict monitoring, can help prevent similar scandals in the future ² ¹ ³.

Ultimately, the punishment should be determined by the law and the courts, ensuring accountability and transparency in the NSS and Ghana's public sector.

Women are naturally corrupt in work places but when they tend to be corrupt they do it expertly.
We need to start giving stiffer punishments to such people. Deterrence is the only means to save this country.
